Welcome

I am a dedicated and experienced Psychological Therapist and Occupational Therapist providing therapy in Sheffield.  I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Practitioner, certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, certified Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) Therapist and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist.

I offer therapy to adults experiencing a range of psychological difficulties or distress and specialise in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and loss in their life. I also provide supervision and training to professionals.

We all have points in our lives that feel more challenging or may suffer experiences that are painful to us. Sometimes we can get through these difficult periods, but at other times we might want to seek support from a therapist.  Therapy can provide the opportunity to make sense of our experiences and explore areas of difficulty; to develop strategies and different ways of coping; or can aid in the processing of trauma.

I offer a professional, compassionate and collaborative therapy service.  I am passionate about helping people to repair, re-build and grow their lives following distress or adversity, or to move beyond a position of merely surviving and keeping going, to a place of living more fully in the present.  I bring a warm, caring and sincere presence to my work.

I recognise that going to therapy can feel daunting and the importance of finding the right professional to support you, so please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, or if you would like to arrange a free 15 minute telephone consultation.

I warmly welcome all enquiries and look forward to working with you.

Testimonials

From Mental Health Professionals

I have worked alongside Cat for the past 5 years and I would recommend her as a therapist.  Cat has an exceptional ability to understand people’s problems and to work with them collaboratively to find solutions.

Cat is warm, empathetic and understanding and I would have no hesitation in recommending her to both my family and friends.  Cat’s wealth of experience, extensive training and professional approach to her work makes her an ideal therapist to work alongside in understanding and treating mental health difficulties.

As a colleague of Cat’s for a number of years, I have always found her to be warm, compassionate and insightful.  She comes from a place of genuine care for others and works hard alongside her clients, helping them recover, grow and move towards a future they can enjoy and be excited by.

I’ve worked with Cat since 2019.  I’ve always found Cat to be a warm and helpful colleague.  She always offers sound advice that is very ‘client focused’ and thoughtful.

As part of my role, I assess people for the suitability of psychotherapy and I was always pleased to hear when the people I’d met with for assessment were offered therapy with Cat; I had complete confidence they were in good hands!

I have worked in the NHS for over 20 years and alongside Cat in the Personality/Complex Trauma Team for the last few years.  Cat is a highly valued colleague as she is always happy to help and make time for others.  She is calm, compassionate and thoughtful in her approach and I know she will be a real asset to any role or place of work in the future.

Cat and I completed our Occupational Therapy training together at Sheffield Hallam University.  Cat was very much at the centre of our group due to her warm and genuine nature and ability to make people feel at ease.

Cat has always had a commitment to using therapy to transform lives; her dedication to continued training is astonishing and a testament to her determined nature.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cat and I am sure that she will transform many lives in her therapy practice.
